What Is Sheet Metal Fabrication?
Sheet metal fabrication is a cold-processing method for thin metal plates — generally under 6 mm thick — that covers shearing, punching, bending, welding, riveting and, finally, surface treatment. Its defining trait: the thickness stays constant across the entire part.
Uniform Thickness, Formed Not Machined
Unlike CNC machining, which removes material from a solid block, sheet metal fabrication starts flat and gets its shape from cutting and forming — laser cutting or punching removes the outline, then a press brake bends it along straight axes into V, U or channel profiles.

Defining an A-Side and B-Side
Surface finishing almost always leaves some aesthetic trace — hang marks from an anodizing rack, for instance. JUSTWAY recommends defining an A-side and B-side on the technical drawing so the most visible surface stays defect-free.
